Footloose Family

"None of the experiences that we generate on our camps will be possible without the help and support of our local friends.
A shout out to our local guides, drivers, tribal friends and families !!"

Our Story

“..being footloose has always exhilarated us. It is associated in our minds with escape from history and oppression and law and irksome obligations, with absolute freedom.”

Kanha. The lengthening evening shadows. A cup of warm chai and never-ending conversations. This is how Footloose Journeys began. Bablu, our driver in Kanha, was talking with unprecedented fervor. The jungle, traversed all day in the open-top safari, was coming alive once again. Bablu’s words were painting a picture unseen to the tourists. It was not that he had been reticent before. No one had bothered to ask. The guides and drivers that unravel the mysteries of the forests often remain nameless. Hidden behind the veil of professional tourism, the real contributors to the forest perform a thankless job. It was the desire to repay their unspoken debt that got us started on Footloose. We are passionate travellers who believe that there is more to travelling than just “visiting” a place! We believe that travelling is more than just a bunch of tick-marks on the list of places you wish to visit. We believe that a traveller should try and understand the place rather than just be there. And with this credence, we aim at adding social values to tourism – for the benefit of both the visitors and the hosts! Turn your travel into a cultural exploration! Get acquainted with the local way of life and leave your footprints by becoming a part of our projects! Go footloose!
